Bixby Weekend Roundup: Two Big Wins, a Wellness Walk and What's Ahead (October 11, 2026)

Here's what happened around Bixby this weekend and what's on the calendar next.

A weekend of Spartan wins

The Pride of Bixby Marching Band won the 2026 Renegade Review on Saturday at Union's Tuttle Stadium, scoring 84.200 with "One of One" and edging Owasso by 0.15, according to OK Marching. Read our full band story.

On Friday night, top-ranked Spartan football won 50-14 at Edmond Memorial to move to 6-0. The Oklahoman counted it as Bixby's 19th straight win. Here's our game recap.

Volleyball is 17-12 overall and 7-5 in district play after losses at Jenks on Oct. 6 and to Owasso on Oct. 8, per MaxPreps.

First Wellness Walk at Charley Young Park

Bixby hosted its first Wellness Walk on Saturday at Charley Young Park, with community resources, family activities and a goal of breaking the stigma around mental health, FOX23 reported.

Founder Darcy Linam told FOX23 she hopes everyone understands "that checking on someone and asking if they're okay can make a bigger difference than we realize." Organizers hope to bring the walk back next year.

News from City Hall

The City Council called a special meeting for Oct. 8 to award $16 million in sewer bonds, the first borrowing under the sewer proposition voters approved Aug. 25, Bixby Local News reported. Voters authorized up to $25 million for sewer work, 2,913 to 1,880.

Under the draft ordinance, the bonds would be repaid from 2029 through 2051 through a property tax starting in 2027. The city's Technical Advisory Committee also reviewed early plans to widen East 131st Street between Memorial and Mingo, which call for five lanes but are not yet approved.
