Positive community news out of Bixby this week: the Bixby Metro Chamber of Commerce is hosting Rooted & Rising, a Women's Leadership Conference, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM CDT at The Breckenridge Venue (116 E Breckenridge Ave, Bixby, OK).
Chamber event materials describe the day as designed for women at every stage of a leadership journey, whether someone is leading a team, a business, or simply their own life with greater intention. The program pairs practical tools with community connection, which is exactly the kind of civic energy that makes Bixby feel like more than a pin on a map.

- Tracy Spears (morning keynote): speaker, bestselling author, and co-founder of The Leader Lab
- Kristin Afeluno (mid-morning): LPL Financial Planner and owner of HerPlanning, among other community roles listed by the Chamber
- Lisa Nichols (afternoon keynote): CEO and co-founder of Technology Partners, podcast host, and author of Something Extra
