Bixby Youth Sports Guide: Where Future Spartans Play This Fall (October 7, 2026)

By BixbyMerch.com · October 7, 2026

Good morning, Bixby. Before they wear the red at Spartan Stadium or step on the court at the high school, most Bixby athletes start out in a youth league with a volunteer coach, a carpool and a cooler of orange slices.

Here is a quick family guide to the youth programs that feed Spartan teams, plus a park upgrade that should make game nights easier down the road.

The seven youth programs that feed Spartan teams

Bixby High School Athletics lists seven youth organizations that feed into Bixby's middle school and high school sports. They are run on their own, separate from Spartan Athletics, but they are where a lot of future Spartans learn the game.

  • Bixby Youth Cheer
  • Bixby Soccer Club
  • Bixby Youth Softball
  • Bixby Youth Baseball
  • Bixby Wrestling Club

Bixby Youth Football by the numbers

The Bixby Youth Football Association is a nonprofit run by elected volunteers. It offers tackle football, flag football, cheer and pom, and says its football and cheer programs serve Bixby Public Schools children in 1st through 7th grade.

This fall's tackle roster shows teams at every grade from 1st through 7th, and several grades field four squads (Red, Blue, White and Silver). Flag football lists grade reps for two groups, kindergarten through 3rd grade and 4th through 7th grade, so even the youngest players have a place to start.

All of it runs on volunteers. Will Franklin serves as BYFA president and also coaches a 7th grade team, and volunteer coaches lead squads across every grade. If you see one of them on the sideline this month, a thank-you goes a long way.

Brighter nights coming to Bentley Park

In August, Bixby voters approved all four propositions in the city's $77.5 million bond package. Proposition 3 covers Bentley Park Sports Complex.

According to the City of Bixby, demand at Bentley Park has led to crowded fields and parking. The parks plan replaces grass overflow areas with paved parking and adds field lighting, so games and practices are not limited to daylight and fewer families and teams get turned away because of capacity.
