Bixby Parks Micro-Guide: Bentley Park and Lake Bixhoma (September 28, 2026)

Cooler evenings are a good time to walk Bixby's parks and trails. Here is a quick micro-guide built from public city project updates and local news, not scoreboard chatter.

Quick facts

  • Bentley Park playground, splash pad, pickleball, and sand volleyball upgrades are listed as completed in May 2026 on the City of Bixby Project Updates page.
  • KTUL reported Bentley Park's grand opening and summer kick-off on Friday, June 5, 2026.
  • Lake Bixhoma Beautification is listed as completed in June 2026; Posey Creek Trail pathway widening is in Final Design/Review.

Bentley Park: playground, splash pad, and new courts

According to the City of Bixby's Project Updates page (last updated Sept. 25, 2026), Bentley Park's playground and splash pad improvements and its pickleball and sand volleyball courts are both listed under 2026 completed projects with May 2026 completion notes.

KTUL's June 5, 2026 report described a grand opening and summer kick-off, a playground with three play structures for different age groups, a refurbished splash pad, and new pickleball and sand volleyball courts. Assistant Public Works Director Nathan Radach told KTUL the courts and splash pad were already drawing strong use.

Lake Bixhoma and the Posey Creek Trail

The same city Project Updates list marks Lake Bixhoma Beautification as a completed 2026 project (June 2026). Families looking for a quieter outdoor stop can pair that with the city's design work on Posey Creek Trail, where pathway widening by designer PDG is shown in Final Design/Review.

Where to go this week

Bentley Park is the easy in-town option for younger kids and casual courts. Lake Bixhoma is the longer outing southeast of town when you want water views and trail time. Check the city's Project Updates page for the latest construction notes before you plan a longer walk near active work zones.
